Study 2 used the same selection criteria as described in Study 1 (other published file in this project) and obtained a sample of 189 participants with an average age of 20 years (SD = 2.42). This sample consisted entirely of college students (consistent with Griskevicius, et al, 2007; 2011) enrolled in a small southeastern University and compensated with course credit for their participation. Participant recruitment was through SONA and participation was facilitated through Qualtrics online survey software. The current sample was predominantly female (79.4%), White/Non-Hispanic (74.1%), heterosexual (91%), and involved in a romantic relationship (51.3%).
